Western Montana in bloom and on foot

Camas update

June 11th, 2008 · 2 Comments

The Lolo Pass Visitor Center, just off U.S. Highway 12 on the Montana-Idaho border, reports on its message line that the Packer Meadows camas bloom is running a bit behind this year.

As of Wednesday morning, there was an inch of snow on the ground. “The camas are about two weeks late and probably will not be blooming for another two weeks,” the message says.

For updated information about the bloom, call (208) 942-1234.

6/22 – we need more up to date information. News cast on TV was not detailed. No pictures of previous blooming meadows.

Ellis, this blog post you commented on is two years old – just the other day I added one about the start of this year’s bloom.

For more up-to-date information on the bloom, you should call the visitor center at (208) 942-1234.
